Terms of Service

Effective date: 2026-08-25

By creating an account or using CertBeacon ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Service description

CertBeacon provides SSL certificate and domain registration expiry monitoring. Monitoring results are provided for reference only: they are not legal advice, do not guarantee that a certificate or domain is valid or will not expire, and do not replace notices from your certificate authority or domain registrar or your own checks.

2. Accounts & eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account, and you must provide accurate account information.

3. Free plan & subscriptions

4. Acceptable use

You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or in any way that violates applicable law or the rights of others, monitors systems without authorization, abuses the free tier, circumvents payment, interferes with the Service or its third-party data sources, or infringes intellectual property rights.

5. Third-party data & service availability

Monitoring relies on third-party data sources (certificate transparency logs, RDAP registries) and our own or third-party connectivity checks. These sources may be unavailable, delayed or inaccurate, and checks may therefore be delayed, fail or be incomplete. The Service is provided on an "as available" basis, and we accept no liability for any loss resulting from missed, delayed or inaccurate monitoring.

6. Billing & refunds

Paid subscriptions (Pro and Max) are billed in advance and auto-renew. Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable; we do not offer general no-question refunds or compensate for unused time. Refunds are considered only in these limited cases: duplicate system charges, confirmed unauthorized transactions, or a prolonged core-service outage caused by us. Whether to refund is at our discretion. We do not refund for change of mind, low usage, forgetting to cancel, dissatisfaction with features, or third-party network issues. To request a refund under one of the above cases, contact [email protected]. You can cancel auto-renewal at any time; your paid plan stays active until the period ends and no further charges apply.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT MONITORING RESULTS WILL BE COMPLETE OR ACCURATE.

8. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL CertBeacon, ITS OPERATOR OR ITS PROVIDERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL OR REVENUE, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 3 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) US$10. THIS SECTION DOES NOT LIMIT LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING MANDATORY CONSUMER PROTECTION LAWS.

9. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, if we reasonably believe your use threatens the security or stability of the Service, or as required by law. You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Significant changes will be announced by email or in-app notice; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing law & disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer in the EEA, the UK or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, nothing in these Terms limits rights you cannot validly waive under those laws, and where they provide a higher level of protection, they prevail. Disputes that are not resolved informally may be submitted to the courts of the operator's place of establishment, subject to any mandatory consumer jurisdiction rules.
